sound image

The two main concepts revisited in the multichannel sound image are the spatial impression, much more developed than in stereo and location all around the listener with problems based on the principle of auditory attention that can lead (dis-location and distraction). The dis-location problems described visual and auditory fusion when hearing locations do not correspond to visual sources. The balance of distraction describes the reactions of the orientation reflex attention in the side and rear areas, triggered by sounds with some salience. A suggested objective criteria useful for the analysis of multi-channel sound image.
