sound image

The two main concepts revisited in the multi-channel sound image are the spatial impression, much more developed than stereo and location all around the listener with the problems based on the principle of auditory attention it can generate (dis-location and distraction). The tell-location describes the visual and auditory fusion problems when hearing locations do not correspond to visual sources. The distraction balance describes the reactions of reflex orientation of attention in the side and rear areas, triggered by the sounds with a certain salience. Here is a proposal for appropriate objective criteria for the analysis of multi-channel sound image.
